S-ACC Concert Series:
From the Danube to the Hudson
On Friday, December 5, 2025, the Slovak-American Cultural Center organized a holiday musical concert entitled “From the Danube to the Hudson” at St John’s in the Village. The program featured two exceptional Slovak artists, violinist Filip Pogády, celebrated for his “lightning virtuosity” and emotive depth, and pianist Peter Fancovič, known for his remarkable versatility and expressive musical storytelling. Together, they offered a vibrant program of classical masterpieces, including the iconic Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and beloved Slovak pieces such as “Keby som bol vtáčkom,” and a touch of Perinbaba, bringing a nostalgic spirit of Slovak Christmas to all who gathered. A reception following the concert provided an opportunity for attendees to network while enjoying delicious Slovak goodies! A full audience made the event extra special - thank you to everyone who braved the cold to experience a memorable evening of fantastic music!
A special thank you to Consul General Beatrice Szabóová and Slovenský generálny konzulát v New Yorku / Slovak Consulate General in NY for the excellent collaboration. We would also like to thank our friends at Wesmont Liquors G4 and Ticketbarber.com!
