Exploring the Extremes
October 15, 2025
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Slovak-American Cultural Center had the pleasure of hosting the NYC premiere of the powerful film, The Boss – Aconcagua at Bohemian National Hall Cinema. The captivating documentary by award-winning astrobiologist, explorer, and now filmmaker Dr. Michaela Musilová shared insights into her expedition to Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in South America. The film took us on her awe-inspiring journey, blending breathtaking adventure, cutting-edge science, and a personal story of resilience—all part of her visionary Astro Seven Summits project in collaboration with NASA.
After the screening, the audience engaged in a thought-provoking Q&A session with Dr. Musilová, followed by a lively networking reception that brought together explorers, science enthusiasts, and curious minds of all ages. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible event and helped celebrate the power of exploration, education, and perseverance.
The Slovak-American Cultural Center would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to our collaborators on this event, the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU). A huge thank you to our incredible moderator and SVU Board member, Ms. Katarina Vizina and to Ms. Kristina Rosova for producing the event recap video!
