What to Expect:
Join us for an inspiring virtual discussion featuring three exceptionally talented Slovak students who are already making waves in the world of science. You’ll hear about their journeys, explore their passion for research, and have the opportunity to ask them your questions live.

Meet the Participants:

Viktor Imrišek (Stanford University) — An undergraduate mathematics major at Stanford University with a background in both math and bioengineering.
Anna Podmanická (Gymnázium Jura Hronca) — A high school student from Gymnázium Jura Hronca in Bratislava who placed 4th at the prestigious Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair 2025 with her work on wastewater purification.
Adam Kovalčík (CHU STU) — A high-school researcher who captured the top prize at ISEF 2025 for his innovative antiviral chemistry project.
Moderator: Dr. Ivica Labuda — A Slovak-American biotechnologist, Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology at Georgetown University and Director of the Biotechnology Program. Dr. Labuda is the Chair of the Science Series which has been an integral part of our annual programming at Slovak-American Cultural Center for decades.
